Everything fits just right. The neck measurement is taken around the neck with the tape resting on your shoulders. You should put one finger between the tape and the neck if you want to allow for some extra room.
The chest measurement is taken as a circumference measurement around your chest at the widest point. Stand in a relaxed posture and breathe out. The waist measurement is taken as a circumference measurement around your waist just above your belly button. The hip measurement is taken simply as a circumference measurement around your hips at the widest part. The seat measurement is taken as a circumference measurement around your seat at the widest part.
The shirt length measurement is taken from the top of the shoulder, close to the mid side of your neck, following your body down to the point where you want your shirt to end.
Think of a line going from your armpit straight upwards to your shoulder. Measure between those two points and hold the tape measure straight. The sleeve length measurement is taken from the point of your shoulder where you took the shoulder width measurement , following your bent arm down to where you want the sleeve to end.
Bend your arm slightly when taking this measurement. This measurement is always the full length of the arm. The wrist measurement is taken as a circumference measurement around your wrist. We will add movement ease according to the cuff you select. The hip measurement is a circumferential measurement. Now, stand in a straight position and make sure that you either wear nothing on the upper body or a simply just a T-shirt.
Have your friend take the 5 measurements needed, as shown below. When creating your custom size we will automatically compensate for the slight shrinking of the garment that happens in the first couple of washes. Measure in a straight line down over your chest to where you would like your T-shirt to stop. If you find it difficult to get the right length measured on your body, you can also measure a T-shirt from your wardrobe when laid flat and give the exact length you want.
Run the measuring tape around the fullest part of your chest, under your armpits and over the shoulder blades. Let your arms hang down in a relaxed, natural pose. Run the tape around the fullest part of your waist, usually at the level of the belly button. Resist the urge to suck in your gut and stand in a normal relaxed position.
The measuring tape should be snug against the stomach but not squeezing in. B - Waist - Measure the waist where the body bends. It helps to bend side to side to identify exactly where to measure. You can put an elastic band around the waist to mark the correct placement. D - High Hip - Measure around the fullest part, about 3 - 4" below the waist. This is helpful when fitting a slim skirt or pants to get an accurate idea of the shape of the hip, or the belly.
E - Front Waist Length - Start at the shoulder right next to the base of the neck , and measure to the waist, measuring over the fullest part of the bust. F - Back Waist Length - Measure from the base of the neck in the center, not the side , to the center of the waistline. It's important to keep the elbow bent to allow for movement when you make a sleeve.
It's not hard, and you don't need a lot of measurements to get started. Now, it's time to get your fitting pattern you'll get the right size, using your body measurements!
Button up the coat and lay it on flat surface. Measure from left edge to right edge just below the sleeves. Measure from left edge to right edge at the waistline.
Lay coat on flat surface and measure shoulders straight across from left shoulder seam to right shoulder seam. Measure the distance between sleeve and collar along the shoulder seam. Lay coat on flat surface and measure from shoulder seam connecting the neck to the bottom. Lay the sleeve of the coat on flat surface and measure from one side of the sleeve opening to the other side.
Lay coat on flat surface and measure inside seam of coat sleeve from armhole to edge of sleeve. Lay coat on flat surface and measure back of coat from where armhole meets the sleeve seam across back to center seam. Lay the vest on flat surface and measure from the top of the rear vest down the center back length to bottom. Allowances generally may depend on fabric weave, quality, measurement profile, and shirt design.

Measure around the lower part of your neck, placing a finger between the tape measure and the neck. You should not feel restricted by the tape for a comfortable fit, and should be able to put your index finger inside the tape.
Measure around the fullest part of the chest. The measuring tape is usually around the nipple level, under the armpits, and over your shoulder blades.
